Welcome to Binghamton University, and to the New York State University Police at Binghamton.  Our department is a fully functioning police department that is here to serve you the community member, and visitors to our community.  Our department consists of sworn police officers, building guards, student employees and civilian staff.  We operate 24 hours a day from our station which is located in the basement of the Couper Administration Building.  Our mission is to serve this community with professionalism and pride.  We work closely with students, faculty and staff in a cooperative effort to work towards our goal of making this campus a safe place to live and work.  Our door is always open to discuss any issue that may be of importance to you.  Please feel free to stop in any time to meet our officers or to resolve any problem we can help you with.

I hope that you will take some time to explore our web site to learn more about the department and the services we offer.  We are attempting to make this site more interactive and easier for you to navigate.  Feel free to submit any feedback you may have for us.  We want to know what you think about our department, and how we can better serve you.  Thank you again for stopping by, and I hope that your stay at Binghamton University is a rewarding one.

Sincerely:

John R. Schwartz, Chief of Police
