The position of University Police Officer I is a New York State Civil Service position.  Candidates for this position must meet the minimum qualifications, and be reachable on a civil service list of eligibles following successful completion of the open competitive state-wide examination.  Successful candidates must successfully pass an oral examination, physical/medical review, physical agility test, psychological screening exam, thorough background investigation including fingerprint search, and successful completion of the New York State University Police Training Academy.   Information on the next open competitive examination for University Police Officer II can be obtained from the New York State Department of Civil Service or by clicking on the button below.
